Warriors juggernaut Konrad Hurrell declares Tongan allegiance

Powerhouse Warriors centre Konrad Hurrell will play for Tonga at the rugby league World Cup.
Hurrell, 21, was considered a possibility to represent the Kiwis at the tournament in Great Britain and France starting in October but will instead commit to his country of birth.
"I want to go to the World Cup and play, I don't want to go there just to be the 18th man or just be in the squad," Hurrell told Fairfax NZ.
"I want to represent my country and the Tongan community in it. After that, if I play hard I will hopefully get a chance to play for the Kiwis."
Nuku'alofa-born Hurrell shifted to Auckland in 2009 on a school rugby union scholarship.
He switched to rugby league in 2011 when signed to play for the Junior Warriors.
