Benji Marshall defends wearing Blues jersey

Benji Marshall's defending his decision to wear a Blues jersey while still playing for the Wests Tigers.

The former Kiwis captain appeared in his 2014 kit on a video on the Blues website after announcing he'd signed.

It prompted Tigers coach Mick Potter to condemn him wearing it as "bad taste".

Marshall says he doesn't see it as a big deal.

"What's been done's been done. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and if they feel that way they feel that way."

Marshall says people can think what they like about the timing and what he was wearing.

"We're not in finals contention so it was the time to do it."

He says he wore the jersey at the Blues request.
