Hull KR forward Cory Paterson joins West Tigers

Wests Tigers have confirmed the signing of Hull KR forward Cory Paterson on a one-year deal.

Paterson is leaving Rovers after just a season in the Super League and will join up with Mick Potter's side for the start of the 2014 campaign.

The 26-year-old has previously played for Australian sides Newcastle and North Queensland.

"Cory is a big strapping back-rower who can break the line and also offload the ball. He is an experienced NRL player who still has plenty to offer," Potter said on his club's official website this morning.

"He is playing very well for Hull KR but his wife is extremely homesick.

"Cory is coming back for a chance to re-establish himself in the NRL. His experience will be invaluable to some of our younger back-rowers."
