Canada names side to take on USA Tomahawks

(Toronto) Canada Wolverines coach Jamie Lester has named a 20 man squad to take on the USA Tomahawks in game 3 of the Colonial Cup series at Lamport stadium this Saturday September 7. All but one player has appeared in the Wolverines previous 2013 fixtures, which includes victories over Jamaica and USA before suffering a heavy defeat to the Tomahawks in Philadelphia last week. 

Coach Lester made these comments; “It’s going to be tough turning around a 28 point loss, but I know what the boys can achieve when we play to our potential. Unfortunately we were off our game in Philadelphia, and the Tomahawks are always going to take advantage if you’re not at your best. A couple of changes have been made to the team that will be finalized on Wednesday. Some players have a point to prove while others can concentrate on bringing their best. It’s not about revenge, it’s about proving to ourselves that we are better than that”. 

Canada have included Autagavaia, Grace, Leveridge, and Wamalwa whom were all missing from the line up in Philadelphia, while Lester himself and debutant Fleming have also been named. The series will be decided by a table with the series currently tied at 1-1.  If the series is tied at its conclusion then it will be decided, on a points aggregate basis with the USA holding 64-52 advantage going into this weekend's matchup.  The Wolverines will be looking for a third straight home victory on Saturday night when they face the Tomahawks and try and take the lead in the series. Only time will tell if they can get the job done.
