PNG Hunters name extended squad for Round 12 North's Devils match

THE Papua New Guinea Hunters have yesterday named an extended squad of 20 players for their important Round 12 match on Sunday against Norths Devils at Bishop Park.
The Hunters currently in third spot, sit one point above the Devils in the Queensland Cup ladder and
North’s will be looking to bounce back after their loss to Redcliffe last weekend.
The South Pacific Brewery-sponsored Hunters, buoyed by an impressive backs-to-the-wall win last weekend welcome players back, giving coach Michael Marum a selection headache for the match.
Captain Israel Eliab will not take the field after recovering from the measles while prop Joe Bruno will be monitored and assessed this week by the clubs medical staff, after suffering concussion in last weekends win.
Back for the Hunters are hard running prop Timothy Lomai, pictured, cult hero Willie Minoga and Dion Aiye.
Prop Esau Siune, who starred in the hit-ups department in last weekend’s 32-22 victory over Wynnum Manly Seagulls in Kokopo, has retained his sport in the starting side.
Marum will test the fitness of the players before finalising his 18- man squad for Sunday.
The side is training at their Bomana Police College bas outside Port Moresby and fly to Brisbane on Friday.
The match will be televised live on Hitron and Channel 8 with a delayed telecast at 7pm on EMTV.
