Watts banned for penis bite: report

Ex-NRL player Anthony Watts has reportedly been handed an eight-match ban for biting an opponent's penis during a local rugby league final on the Gold Coast.

Watts faced a Gold Coast-Tweed Rugby League judiciary hearing on Tuesday night on a contrary conduct charge.

The ex-Sydney Rooster and North Queensland player was accused of biting a rival player during the Tugun Seahawks' preliminary final win over Bilambil Jets on September 1.

News Limited says Watts has been banned for eight matches after being found guilty of the offence, saying his lawyer Mark Williams had confirmed the ban.

Video footage of the incident shows the Jets player reeling away in pain after clashing with Watts near the goal line.

He then quickly pulled down his shorts to show the damage to a referee who immediately placed Watts on report.

The Queensland Rugby League is expected to make a statement on the incident on Wednesday.

Watts had already been found guilty of striking his opponent and was ruled out of last weekend's Bycroft Cup grand final win by the Seahawks.

It's the latest in a series of incidents for Watts, who has admitted to joining the Finks bikie gang since moving to the Gold Coast.

Last week he was fined for driving while suspended and in June he was convicted and fined for affray following a brawl at the Cooly Rocks nostalgia festival.
