PNG Rugby League Club Gulf Isapeas sign Fijian players

The Gulf Isapeas campaign for the 2014 Digicel Competition has been given a major boost with the arrival of four Fijians in the country today.

Gulf Governor and Patron of Gulf Isapeas Havila Kavo said the contract of the four players is part of a pilot provincial partnership or relationship between Gulf province and sister province of Ba in Fiji which was established just last year.

“The inclusion of the four Fijians will certainly boost the morale of the players to be more competitive and an opportunity for the team to finish in the top four in only its fourth year of the competition, “ said Mr Kavo

“As the head coach I am very happy at the prospect of having these Fijians as part of the Gulf Isapeas campaign for the 2014 Digicel Cup Competition. The local players are happy as well and can’t wait to be lining alongside their new team mates when the competition kicks-off this weekend.” said coach Bobby Ako.

The four Fijian players are Semi Wainiqolo (Forward), Livai Nairogo (Forward), Netava Rarokoliwa (Fullback) and 21year old Jone Uneune (Forward).
