TITANS star Jarryd Hayne has reportedly confirmed his availability to represent Fiji at the 2017 rugby league world cup.

According to the Fiji Times the former San Francisco 49er has confirmed to Fiji Bati ambassador Petero Civoniceva his intentions to represent the nation.

“It’s extremely exciting for someone like Jarryd Hayne confirming his availability for Fiji Bati and the fact that he wants to play for Fiji says a lot about him,” former Kangaroo and Fiji Bati skipper Petero Civoniceva said.

“You know very easily he could play for Australia but he has decided that he wants to give back to Fiji and that is a great thing and you will find that a lot now, boys that have grown up in Australia are excited about the opportunity to represent Fiji.”

Hayne has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons since this week after video emerged of him associating with a member of notorious bikie gang the Hells Angels.

Next year’s world cup will not be the first time the 28-year-old has represented Fiji at a major tournament. In 2008 Hayne was a member of the Fijian world cup squad.
