One punch could kill, says Muratore

The NRL's chief medical officer has warned rugby league players someone could be killed by one punch.

Ron Muratore is amazed players continue to threaten violence despite the NRL's edict that players throwing punches would be sent to the sin bin.

He has told the Sydney Morning Herald that the players have to understand that if they punched someone on the street, they would end up in jail.

Muratore says punching someone can result in terrible injuries, if not death.

After fights in both State of Origin games so far, players have said they won't back down if things blow up again in the decider next week.
