PNG Kumuls: Road to the World Cup

Welcome to this new column “PNG Kumuls road to the World Cup.” 
Starting today and in the coming weeks and months, this column will bring you views and news of our PNG Kumuls preparations including trial matches, player profiles towards the 2013 World Cup. 
The first match in our preparations kicks off on February 9 in the “Return to Redfern” trial match against the South Sydney Rabbitos in Sydney.
The team is known as the PNG Residents X111 as it has been made up by the local Digicel Cup players. 
The side is dominated by players that played against the Australian Prime Minister’s XIII in Port Moresby last year.
The PNG Residents X111 under coach Adrian Lam and his assistant Michael Marum go into camp this weekend in Port Moresby.
The draw has been released for the World Cup which will be played in England in eight months time.
PNG has been pooled in Pool B alongside France, Samoa and New Zealand. 
These are the dates: Sunday October 27, 2013 - PNG vs France – MS3 Cravern Park, Hull
Monday, November 4, 2013 – PNG vs Samoa – MS3 Cravern Park, Hull
Friday, November 8, 2013 – PNG vs New Zealand – Headingley Carnegie Stadium, Leeds
Final Saturday November 30 – Old Trafford, Manchester.
