NZ Warriors thrash Melbourne Storm
The Warriors have upset yet another high flying NRL side, with a 30-22 victory over the Melbourne Storm at Mount Smart Stadium.
The hosts led 18-4 at halftime, after Thomas Leuluai added to an early Ngani Laumape double, but the Storm closed the gap to two points with a couple of quick tries after the break.
A Konrad Hurrell try opened up the lead, but Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk closed the gap once again to set up a thrilling finish.
Up by two, fullback Kevin Locke scored from a bomb to seal the win for the Warriors.
Hooker Nathan Friend says they showed good courage.
"I know it wasn't perfect but to get a victory over those guys. It's what we set out to do. We probably didn't execute as we wanted to but they're a quality side and they come back at us. But once again we showed some grit and we come back."
