Tonight's NRL grand final between the Roosters and Manly is being called the perfect script.

The star-studded Roosters come into the decider looking to cap off its minor premiership with a first title since 2002.

The fourth-placed Sea Eagles have been in the shadow the top three the most of the season, yet have featured in three finals in the last six years.

Roosters utility Daniel Mortimer says this is the time of the year where Manly comes into its own.

"The later in the year you tend to play Manly the harder it is and that's definitely been the case this year. You just look at the scorelines, they're getting closer and closer.

We've knocked them off three times this year but that 4-0 battle we had a couple of weeks ago was the toughest game I've played in."

Kickoff at ANZ Stadium in Sydney's at 9.15pm.

The Junior Warriors are in the Under 20's final against Penrith in the curtain raiser from 5.45pm.
