Will Genia eyes Top 14 club Stade Francais
INJURED Wallabies halfback Will Genia could join Top 14 club Stade Francais after next year’s World Cup, French newspaper reports suggest.
Genia has already expressed a desire to play overseas after next year’s showpiece and had previously been linked with English club Bath. Currently sidelined with an ankle injury, Genia is one of a number of high-profile Wallabies expected to depart Australia after the 2015 tournament and take the big money on offer in Europe and Japan. Former Reds and Wallabies winger Digby Ioane is already on the Paris club’s books while NRL star Krisnan Inu will join them this season. Current Wallaby boss Ewen McKenzie has previously coached the club while former St George Illawarra star Mark Gasnier is another Aussie to have enjoyed a stint in Paris. –Source: News Corp Australia
