Rabbitohs release Luke Burgess from the remainder of his 2015 NRL playing contract
The South Sydney Rabbitohs have released prop Luke Burgess from the remainder of his NRL playing contract to
take up a contract for 2015 and 2016 with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.
Burgess, 27, made his debut for the Rabbitohs in 2011 against the Sharks and has gone on to play 51 NRL
games on top of the 96 English Super League he amassed with the Leeds Rhinos and London Harlequins
between 2007 and 2011.
Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire wished Burgess the best of luck at his new club.
“Luke has done a great job for us over the past three seasons I’ve been with the Club and an opportunity has
come up for him to join Manly.
“He’s a quality front rower who has played over 50 first grade games for this club, and we wish him, his partner
Yolanda and daughter Grace, all the best at Manly.”
