Russell brings experience from both the NRL and the English game, having played eight matches for the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2023 and more than 100 reserve-grade games in Australia before moving to Warrington. He appeared 10 times for the Wolves last season and later completed a loan spell with the Salford Red Devils, where he added another nine games before finalising his release.
Bradford coach Kurt Haggerty welcomed the acquisition, noting that he previously worked with Russell at Salford and praised his athleticism, ball-playing skills and character. Haggerty said the forward would fit seamlessly into the team’s culture and contribute strongly to their Super League campaign.
Russell said he was excited about the opportunity and motivated to continue playing at Super League level after Bradford’s promotion. He said the squad being assembled for next season helped convince him that the Bulls were the right fit, and he is keen to make an impact in his first season with the club.
